 A large proportion of the sponsorship received is used to sponsor less privileged children and teachers. We aim to provide them with a stimulating and empowering education in the arts, by enabling them to participate in the Mini-Festival, the Day Programme and the Boarding Programme. The Children: Sponsored children who attend the Day Programme come predominantly from previously disadvantaged schools in Grahamstown. We invite children from Children’s Homes in Port Elizabeth, East London and King William’s Town for the Boarding Programme. The Teachers: This programme consists of arts-related workshops that specifically cater for teachers and their needs in South African classrooms by focusing particularly on the use of artistic forms in teaching and how to empower their learners in the arts.
